Along is a voice companion designed to make everyday conversation feel personal and to help people preserve the stories they choose to share. This policy explains how Loewenthal Ventures handles information when you use Along.

Information we collect

We may collect your name, phone number, invitation details, WhatsApp messages, voice recordings, transcripts, uploaded media, preferences, memories, and other information you choose to share. We also collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

We use this information to provide and improve your companion, remember relevant details across conversations, answer you more personally, preserve stories you ask us to keep, prevent misuse, and provide support. We do not sell personal information or use private stories for advertising.

Voice, memories, and family access

Voice notes are downloaded temporarily for transcription and are not deliberately stored by Along after transcription. Transcripts, conversation responses and memories may be stored so the service can work across conversations. Family members do not automatically receive access. Setup helpers can change only limited settings through an expiring link authorised by the account holder. Sharing always requires a separate action by the account holder.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to operate Along, including Meta and WhatsApp for messaging, Vercel for hosting and AI infrastructure, Supabase for secure data storage, and selected AI providers for transcription and conversation. They process information only to provide services to Along and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.

Storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including restricted server-side database access, signed links and encrypted Gmail refresh tokens. Information may be processed or stored by service providers outside Australia. No online service can guarantee absolute security. During the pilot, conversation history and saved memories are retained while the account is active unless the account holder deletes them or asks us to do so. Minimal security and transaction records may be retained where legally required.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information and memories. In WhatsApp you can say “what do you remember”, “that’s private”, “forget that”, “forget everything”, “daily prompts off”, “reminders off” or “stop”. You may also withdraw permission for future processing. Some minimal information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and recordkeeping purposes.

Children and sensitive information

Along is not intended for children under 18. Please do not share passwords, financial credentials, or urgent medical information through the service. Along is a companion and memory service, not a medical professional, emergency service, or substitute for human care.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Along develops. The date above will change when we make a material update. Privacy questions, complaints or requests can be raised through the contact method provided in the invitation or by replying to Along and requesting human support. We will verify the account holder before disclosing or deleting information.
